American Dream the project that took 20 plus years into the making but the first Jersey mall to open post 2000's

 The road for the American Dream Mall project goes back the 2000's as the project started out in 2003 as the Meadowlands Xanadu. Part of the Mall was built across from then Giants Stadium and sat next to what was the Izod Center. But when it was constructed it didn't pick up again till a decade later which had many road blocks with financial partners, the 2008 economy collapse made this mall seem to never open in a period which many others have become dead, shuttered and just not the same as in the past as Anchors went bankrupt. Construction started and stopped between 2013 and 2017. But finally the mall was slated to open in 2019 which it did in stages between 2019 and 2021 of course the Covid 19 derailed the young mall right from the start. What is exactly inside the American Dream Mall?? It does have an anchor with Saks Fifth Avenue in its all exclusive luxury section part of the mall then switches over to what regular mall stores have such as Primark, Best Buy etc..... A full size NHL style rink which one year hosted the Arena Football League Arena Bowl yes this did happen. Most recently it hosted the inaugural ball for the states new governor Mikie Sherrill with a surprise performance by Naughty by Nature. That was so NJ right there a party in the mall.  A indoor ski slope good way to beat the heat on a 90 degree day. A observation deck which I thought was similar to Linq in Las Vegas and two amusement style parks, The Dreamworks water park where you can hang in a indoor setting year round with a sandy beach wave pool and water slides with characters hanging above such as from Madagascar, The minions from Despictible Me and the Nickelodeon Universe. its so cool to see a huge mural going in with  the Nick characters before  going into the park with Spongebob, Dora the explorer, Rugrats and others. The mall has also gone thru controversy in its young start as they broke a long time practice of opening retail on Sunday which is a blue law in Bergen County. The town of Paramus which is a shoppers paradise of owning malls on the rt 4 and 17 corridors sued American Dream. As of this post it is not clear of they still do it its unclear. As I heard they were not gonna open retail during the NFL season in which The Jets and Giants play at Metlife Stadium nearby imagine the traffic during the game being over.

American Dream is one of the largest Malls in the United States next to nearby Garden State Plaza a few miles away in Paramus and Palisades Center another one close over the State border in NY, King of Prussia in Pa, Roosevelt Field mall on Long island, Destiny USA in Syracuse, NY and Mall of America in Mn
