Hamilton Mall another dead mall in NJ. the end is near

First dead mall was Monmouth Mall then Livingston, Brunswick Square now add Hamilton Mall to the mall graveyard well to be graveyard. it’s become a thing as malls are struggling after online shopping and a economy that is failing.

The Hamilton Mall opened in the Fall of 1987 in Mays Landing near Atlantic City and sits next to the abandoned Atlantic City racetrack. The mall started out with Sears, JC Penny and Macy’s. A Bamberger's was planned but the rebranding in 1986 turned it into a Macy's and the mall was successful, I would say for a good 25 to 30 years as time goes, all good things must come to an end. The mall started dying after Sears closed in 2018 then JC Penny in 2019 in which they converted to Shopper’s World and is now a furniture store but also planning to leave the mall. The 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic was the final nail in the coffin. Add to that many people are not going to Atlantic City like before. With better options across state lines in Pennsylvania. Macy’s is the only remaining anchor but for how long??!!  This mall is only 30% with stores open in the mall while the rest of it is gone. very sad to see after years of thriving.

The Construction of Macy's this woulda been a brand spanking new Bamberger's if Macy's didn't takeover in 1986 that woulda been a more beautiful store if they remained in business.

Miss America  Suzette Charles and tv personality Robin Leach (lifestyles of the rich and famous) cutting the ribbon and a mini Macy's parade in the lot. which was a thing the store did in the 80's
