Palisades center I’m concerned with this one, will it survive???
The Palisades Center mall once a giant plaza how is it doing today.
The mall opened in March 1998 with Lord and Taylor, JC Penny and Filene’s off 287 and 303 in West Nyack, NY right before The Mario Cuomo Bridge or Tappen Zee bridge and also 10 mins from the NJ Border. The mall is a 4 story huge industrial warehouse like structure which reminded me of Bell Labs in Holmdel with its latest renovation. and a gigantic Ferris wheel which you can see from the parking lot The mall has gone thru a ton of changes anchor wise in 2006 Filene’s converted to Macy’s even though at the time there was one at the nearby Nanuet Mall which went dead a few years later. In 2017 JCPenny closed and 2020 Lord and Taylor closed and went out of business. Post covid pandemic, this mall is staying afloat but slowly dying. Since the woes, the mall seems to be doing well with entertainment options such as go karting, arcades, movie theatres and a indoor rope climbing and indoor rock climbing helps a whole lot and even a comedy club and indoor ice skating rink. Fun fact: The mall well the background of it was shown on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares in which he saved a Mexican restaurant across the highway called Fiesta Sunrise which has closed after he tried to fix the business. Actually it closed before it aired in 2008
